Executive Function Assessment
Looking beyond ADHD. Understanding the whole picture.
We don't simply ask whether you have ADHD. We help uncover why you are struggling.
Comprehensive Executive Function Assessments exploring ADHD, ASD, burnout, anxiety, sleep, trauma and other contributors to attention, organisation and productivity difficulties.
Why people seek assessment
Understanding why you're struggling starts with understanding the whole picture.
Difficulties with attention, organisation, motivation and productivity can have many causes. Whether you're a professional, student, woman seeking answers later in life, or simply trying to understand executive dysfunction, our assessment explores the full picture — not just whether ADHD is present.

ADHD may be one explanation — but it is rarely the only one.
Problems with focus, organisation, motivation, memory and task initiation can have many causes. At AOA Clinic, GPs and psychiatrists do not run a tick-box ADHD assessment. They look at the full clinical picture.
They do not simply ask: “Do you have ADHD?”
They ask: “Why are you struggling?”

Your personalised care plan.
Following your Executive Function Assessment, we develop a personalised care plan tailored to your goals, strengths and areas of difficulty. Recommendations may include medication options, non-medication supports, or a combination of both.
Medication Options
Medication may be considered where clinically appropriate. For some individuals, medication can help improve attention, focus, impulsivity and executive functioning as part of a broader personalised care plan.
Learn more about medication options →Non-Medication Options
Depending on your needs, recommendations may include Occupational Therapy, Executive Skills Training, psychological therapies, lifestyle interventions, sleep optimisation and collaborative GP support.
Explore non-medication options →Most people benefit from a combination of strategies.
Executive dysfunction often reflects multiple contributing factors. Our goal is to identify the combination of supports most likely to improve your functioning at work, study, home and in relationships.
AOA Clinic provides ADHD assessment appointments through telehealth for adults in Australia, where clinically appropriate. This can allow patients to access assessment and follow-up care without needing to attend an in-person clinic.
Telehealth appointments are available
Telehealth appointments may be suitable for adults seeking assessment for symptoms such as inattention, difficulty with organisation, forgetfulness, emotional dysregulation, procrastination, or difficulties completing tasks.
Suitability for telehealth depends on individual circumstances, clinical complexity and practitioner assessment.
Contact AOA ClinicAOA Clinic is a coordination and governance platform.
AOA supports structured ADHD shared care by coordinating intake, triage, clinical governance workflows, case conferencing pathways and CP365-enabled care coordination. Participating GPs and psychiatrists operate as independent medical practitioners and are not employees of AOA.Clinic hours
Telehealth relies on the patient being willing and able to participate in the consultation safely, as well as the doctor and patient being some distance apart.
Telehealth is not appropriate for patients who pose a moderate to high risk of hurting themselves or others. Patients who are acutely suicidal, homicidal, or under the influence of alcohol or other substances fall under this category.
